Fishing Report for August 17, 2010

The weather and the fishing could not have made for a better day. We anchored up a small slough and caught silvers steady for 4 hours until we grew tired of taking pictures. Casting spoons was the hot ticket but we did manage to land 2 on the fly rods. Just for a change we made a move after lunch and fly fished. We caught sockeye, Dolly Varden, and one 19 inch rainbow. We all celebrated a great day of fishing by eating sockeye and steak for dinner. We have had a lot of rain this summer and its looking like the runs will be late. We spotted several fresh chums as well as schools of sockeye today. We have a big day planned tomorrow on the Stuyahok fishing for trophy trout and salmon on light fly gear.  Hope to see you here.
