August 4, 2010

Today we had one of those days every guide tries to produce for his clients. We covered Quality, Quantity, and Variety. We started at a small creek and landed 2 really beautiful pike with the biggest going 34 inches. Afterwords we fished a grassy bank for all the small grayling you wanted and one nice sockeye. We grew tired of the spot and headed off to find something different. A 3 mile run upriver put us at a large bend in the river with fish jumping next to the bank for 200 yards. We spread out and immediately caught a huge 16 pound coho and several small rainbows. As the evening progressed more fish started showing up and it was unusual for more than 5 minutes going by without somebody catching a fish. In that spot we landed close to 20 rainbows and several coho. The topper was a young beaver unaware of our presence swimming upstream not more than 10 feet from us. Just a fantastic day.
