Today the river was on the rise so we fished the slower water. We spotted a couple schools of Sockeye ten minutes from the lodge. We tried traditional drifting but were unable to make them bite. After a short regroup we changed our approach and hooked several beauties that put on a huge aerial display in ten inches of water. Afterwards we decided to try out some faster water for rainbows. We had a tough go of it in the high water and tomorrow we are going to park the boat and do some walking, fishing in a few creeks for huge rainbow trout. We just finished an amazing dinner of teriyaki simmered Sockeye and are rigging our rods for tomorrow's adventure. Stay tuned, more fishing reports to come from Kautumn Lodge.
