June 14

Patience is an important trait for guides to poses and after days getting the boats in the water, engines tuned up and the grounds organized my patience was wearing thin. Jumping fish had been teasing us for days but our priorities lay in getting ready for the first clients and getting all the lodge systems up and running like a fine tuned machine. Finally yesterday evening I put on the hip boots and hit the bank for some much anticipated grayling and rainbow fishing. Our patience was rewarded with many small grayling and several larger standouts. The fish are voracious after a long winter and put on quite a show with hard take downs and even a few long runs which felt like silvers on the light gear. Check back for many more updated fishing reports throughout the summer months from Bearfoot Lodge.
